Purpose
The Woodbury Crime Prevention and Public Safety Board was established to help the City of Woodbury continue to be a safe place to live, work, and visit. This non-profit organization, incorporated in March 2000, consists entirely of volunteers who live or work in Woodbury. The group’s purpose is to promote the welfare of the city by establishing a fund that will be used for crime prevention and public safety. The board works closely with the Woodbury Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services Departments in this endeavor.
Through the generous donations of many businesses and individuals, the Board is able to purchase items for Woodbury Police, Fire and EMS that they would otherwise not be able to obtain due to budgetary constraints. Some of the items purchased include K9’s Andy and Shadow, handheld hydraulic rescue tools, thermal imagers, a cardiac monitor, and a training manikin.
