The Woodbury Crime Prevention & Public Safety Board sponsors events throughout the year to promote community safety and raise funds to support the Public Safety Department. Calendar of Events 2008 July 29-30 Safety Camp August 5 National Night Out August 22-24 Woodbury Days September 9 Annual Fundraiser Dinner & Auctions October 11 Fire Station Open House October 13 Davnni's FUN-D Raiser The Woodbury Public Safety Board is sponsoring fire extinguisher training at the fire station located at 1275 Woodbury Drive, the corner of Woodbury Drive and Fox Run Road on Saturday, Oct. 11th from noon till 3:00 pm. This will coincide with the open house held for Fire Prevention Week. Residents are encouraged to bring their own extinguishers to be re-charged (if capable) or purchase an extinguisher and learn how to use it effectively. The Woodbury Public Safety Board purchased a Fire Extinguisher Simulator for the Fire Department last year. This simulator will be on site for residents to practice the proper use of fire extinguishers. There will not be a charge for simulator use; there will be a nominal fee for new extinguishers and re-charging existing units. This is the perfect opportunity to learn how to use your extinguisher in case the need should arise! OCTOBER 13th, MONDAY JOIN the Woodbury Public Safety Board For a FUN NIGHT at DAVANNI’S A special FUN-D RAISER is being held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at DAVANNI’S PIZZA & HOT HOAGIES at Valley Creek & Donegal Drive. Davanni’s will be donating a portion of each order – pizza, hoagies, salads, desserts and drinks EAT-IN and TAKE-OUT ONLY. (No deliveries). COUPON needs to be presented at time of order, or at pick up for us to receive the donation credit. Coupon is available by following the link below. Our own Woodbury resident, Audra Weier, who is the 2008 St. Paul Winter Carnival’s Klondike Kate will be there and may even sing a song or two! Davanni’s will be giving out special promotional gifts and balloons to those attending and there will be prize drawings throughout the evening. WPSB is continuing to raise money to provide our four Ambulances with LUCAS Chest Compression Machines. We have purchased one for the Emergency Medical personnel, and it is currently used on one of the ambulances. With our successful Spaghetti Dinner in September and this event we will soon be able to purchase another LUCAS. Annual Fundraiser Dinner & Auctions The Woodbury Crime Prevention & Public Safety Board sponsors an annual fundraiser dinner, silent auction and raffle to raise funds to support the Public Safety Department. The dinner also provides an opportunity to recognize individuals making significant contributions to the safety of the residents of Woodbury. The annual dinner is open to the general public. You may purchase dinner tickets in person at the Woodbury Public Safety Department, by calling the Woodbury Public Safety Department, or from any Board Member. Raffle tickets are also available for purchase. In 2008, the event will be held on Tuesday, September 9th at the Prom Center in Oakdale. Hope to see you there!
